What is DrvToSite and why use it?

DrvToSite is a completely free platform where you can easily turn a folder in your Google Drive into a live website (.drvto.site). For beginners or students who don't have the budget to buy a domain, this is an ideal solution—you can host a portfolio, resume, demo project, or any kind of static website for free.

Prerequisites for Website Deployment

Before starting the deployment, make sure of the following:

What will be needed Why is it necessary?
index.html file It must be at the root of the folder — this is the website's main page.
Static Files CSS, JS, and images must be placed in a single folder with the correct links.
Public Link The Drive folder must be set to "Anyone with the link can view."
Size Limit The total folder size should be within 10 MB.

Step 1: Prepare the Google Drive folder

  1. Open Google Drive.
  2. Create a new folder (example: My-Website).
  3. Upload your website's index.html, CSS, JS, and image files to that folder.

Step 2: How to share a folder publicly

  1. Right-click on the folder and click Share → Share.
  2. In General access, select "Anyone with the link" (Role: Viewer) instead of "Restricted".
  3. Click the Copy link button to copy the link.

Step 3: Add a link to DrvToSite

  1. Open drvtosite.blogspot.com.
  2. Paste the copied Google Drive link into the (Source) box.
  3. If the link is correct, a green checkmark will appear.

Step 4: Subdomain Selection and Availability Check

  1. In Step 2 (Subdomain) box, enter your preferred name (for example: my-portfolio, biodata).
  2. Your website address will be: https://[your-subdomain].drvto.site
  3. Click the Check button to see if the name is available.

Step 5: Deploy your website with one click

  1. Click the "🚀 Deploy Website" button.
  2. The website will go live in just 2–3 seconds.
  3. Click "Open Website" to view the new website and share it with friends.

Auto-Sync Feature — When the Drive is updated, the website updates itself.

In the future, if you edit files in the Drive folder or add new photos, there's no need to redeploy—the files will update automatically.
